Fortune Station Trilogy
Book 1: Fortune Bound
November 15, 2019 – BookBaby
The Fortune twins are turning thirty on May 12th. At the stroke of midnight, they will inherit a ghost town in the foothills of Nevada; which they plan to restore with three of their childhood friends, into a viable Steampunk park. However, since remaining dormant for over a hundred years, the town’s former residents may have other plans. After all, souls never die, only the shells they walked in.
Alyce Dash, a paranormal investigator for a secret society, is sent in the guise of a landscaper to aid the business partners in their adventure. She’s told she’s bound to one of the men in the mix. Not in a hurry to be married off, or cast out of the society she was raised into, she guards her heart well and accepts the mission as a challenge she’s certain she can defeat.
Can love cross the boundaries of time and heartache to infuse two new souls into being bound?
Will forgotten traces of the past haunt the future of this town.
Come to Fortune Station, where all will be revealed.
What literary pilgrimages have you gone on?
I attend writing retreats and conferences that speak to me, personally. Either because there is a Master Class I’m interested in, an Author signing event or a particular group of fabulous authors I want to meet and learn from.
I have enjoyed the Emerald City Writer’s Conference 3 times.
I participated in the 2018 Book Lovers Con in Reno, Nevada. I took Cherry Adair’s Master Class, and met Damon Suade. Huge highlights for me.
I’ve also been to a “general” writer’s conference in Maui that wasn’t geared toward the Romance genre. I felt it was a waste of my time and money in a professional sense. But, it was Maui, so…
Fun!! What was the best money you ever spent as a writer?
Recently, I upgraded my tiny MacBookAir to a full Mac. Size does matter to me.
I want one too!! As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
I’m definitely going to say a Raven. My house in Alaska is called: Ravens Keep. We have a lake and marsh on our land, filled with giant ravens. They are so clever, noisy and alive.
If you didn’t write, what would you do?
I am just starting my journey as an online English teacher for children from other countries. It’s a bit of a process to get certified, but it’s something I’m passionate about. Otherwise, I’d be digging up history.
Wonderful! Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?
Yes. I use real birthdates for most of my characters, which stem from my own relatives and friends, for various “personal” reasons. This new book, the date May 12th was my Grandmother’s birthday and is currently my second Grandson’s birthdate.
Have you considered writing in another genre?
Yes. I have a large family, with 4 siblings. There are a lot of Women’s fiction ideas floating around in my head, as well as a Young Adult paranormal/fantasy series. But, I’m not ready.
