This story is part of a three-volume anthology created to aide the organizations and victims of the Australian fires that have devastated that region and killed over one billion animals.
Stephen B. King, an Australian author from my publishing house, the Wild Rose Press, asked his fellow authors if they would be interested in contributing a short story for an anthology to benefit the victims of the devastating wildfires in his country. I absolutely wanted to be a part of it. Coming up with an appropriate short story that inspired, well that was more difficult. I started and stopped many different tales, that I just wasn’t happy with.
Finally, my daughter, Paisley, said why don’t you write one about Vegas. You see, my family was at the Route 91 country music festival and was part of that fateful night and horrific massacre. Each of us were affected differently. I always wanted to write a story but never wanted to financially benefit from it. When I thought of the victims in Australia now facing an altered world, I thought now was the time to do it because it could benefit other people in a helpless situation.
