Holiday Madness and New Years Resolutions!
Well, I sincerely hope that everyone out there had a blissful holiday season!?!
We had a fabulous time! As I watch my kids get older and have their own ideas on celebrations and with whom to celebrate, I’m just thankful that they hung out with their parents as long as they did. Granted, there really aren’t any cooler parents than us so it shouldn’t have been too much of a burden for them 🙂 All kidding aside, I feel very blessed in their homecoming, I still bawl like a baby when they go back to school and count the days until I can see them again.
The other part of the holidays, that I really enjoyed, was this year I got all my shopping done early, I mean really early, and being able to enjoy the entire month full of Christmas spirit was pretty cool. As the holidays passed and I started looking towards the New Year, I actually did some heavy-duty soul searching. Sometimes coming up with resolutions, goals, or whatever you want to call them, is done so quietly that when/if you mess up the resolution slowly fades into the background. Also, in the past year, I, unfortunately, had to say goodbye to some wonderful people, who left this earth way too soon, I watched helplessly as mothers lost their children to suicide, wives and daughters lost their husbands and mothers to cancer and a most beloved grandfather decided he wanted to go Home. In watching that you realize quickly that life is literally sand through the hourglass, building up speed. People always say that but for some reason, it has stuck inside me.
So, I wanted to do something a little different this year. I wanted to forgive myself for past deeds where I felt I err’d, praise myself for things done well (this is a HUGE deal for me), create small attainable goals, and have a year-long plan. Simple right? Well, it’s not always an easy thing to do and the main goal that I’m putting out into the universe is that of self-discovery and by the end of the year to complete a book that many may not think I can write. It’s going to be big and exciting and I hope through very hard work and research to have the first rough draft completed by June. It will be part of a three-part epic series.
So, what are your goals for 2016? How will you go about obtaining them? I wish you the very best of luck!
Cheers!
